Henricus Edgard, known as Henri, was born on December 10th, 1887 in Antwerpen.1   Henri's father was Karel (Carolus Charles) Gaethofs and his mother was Dorothea Stephania Pluckers.  His paternal grandparents were Josephus Gaethofs and Maria Christina Van Eerdewegh; his maternal grandfather was Ludovicus Pluckers and his maternal grandmother is Maria Blondina Bervoets. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Augustinus, Ludovicus Jospehus Petrus, Carolus, Eugeen, Maria Antonia, Maria Coleta, Bernardina and Rosalia Maria.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He had three half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Josephus, Petrus Henricus, Pieter Jan, Rosalia Seraphina, Maria Philomena, Regina, Maria Catharina Mathilda, nn, nn and Maria Clara.  He died at the age of 57 on December 9th, 1945 in Antwerpen.1
