Matilda of France was born in 0943 in Laon,Aisne,France.  Matilda of France's father was 'transmarinus' King of France Louis IV and her mother was Gerberga von Sachsen Princess of Germany.  Her paternal grandparents were "The Simple" King of Franks Charles III and Princess of England Eadgiva. She had six brothers and three sisters, named King of France, Prince of the Franks, Charles, Charles Duke of Lower, Duke of Lower Lorraine, Charles, Princess of the Franks, Matilda (Maud) Princess of and of France, Queen of Burgundy.  She was the third oldest of the ten children. She had six half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named , King of France Capet, Otto Eudes , Duke of Burgundy, Duke of Lower Burgundy, Heinrich I, Duke of Burgundy, Heribert [illegitimate], Alberade of, Countess of Vermandois, Hedwig, Countess of Luxembourg, Albrade of Lorraine, Gerberge of Lorraine, Beatrix , of France, Lady of Normandy, Emma and Beatrix of France, Duchess of Upper Lorraine.  She died before November 26th, 0991.


Matilda of France's family with Conrad I King of Burgundy

‌Matilda of France and Conrad I were married in a religious ceremony in 0964.  They had three daughters named Bertha of Burgundy, Gerberga of Burgundy and Matilda of Burgundy.
