John de was born about 1205 in Shirland, England.1   John de's father was Henry I de Grey and his mother was Isolda ' Bardolf.  His paternal grandfather was John De Grey Of Standlake and his paternal grandmother is Elena de Clare; his maternal grandfather was Hugh, Lord Waddington ' Bardolf and his maternal grandmother is Isabel de ' Condet. He had two brothers named Richard de and Robert de '.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Hugh de, William de, Robert de, Henry de and Joan de.  He died before March 18th, 1266.1 


John de's first family with Emma de Cauz

‌John de and Emma de were married in a religious ceremony about 1219 in , London, Middlesex, England.1   They had two sons and two daughters, named Reginald de, of Ruthin, First Baron Grey of Wilton ', Reynold de, Eve de and Helewise de.
