Isabella of was born about 1170 in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland.  Isabella of's father was William I the Lion of Scotland and her mother was Isabel Avenal.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Dunkeld of Huntingdon and Adelaide (Ada) de Warenne; her maternal grandfather was Robert Avenal. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Henry, Ada Fitzwilliam of and Aufrica Fitzwilliam of.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Alexander II Dunkeld the Peaceful of, Margaret of, Isabella of, Marjorie of and Margaret of.  She died in October 1263.
