Francis Marion Sr. was born on May 28th, 1867 in near Jonesville, TX. Francis Marion Sr.'s father was Joel C. Cheatham and his mother is Nancy J. Williams. His paternal grandfather was Archibald (Archer) L. Cheatham and his paternal grandmother is Mary Unknown. He had a brother and six sisters, named James Washington, A. Josephine, Catherine, Isabel, Nancy, Emily and Margaret (Maggie) L.. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 83 on May 26th, 1951. He was buried in Wallace Chapel Cemetery, 5 miles west of Lufkin, TX.-
