Joel Sr. Cheatham 
Joel Sr. was born about 1765 in VA. Joel Sr.'s father was Stephan Cheatham and his mother is Grace Williams. His paternal grandparents are Benjamin Cheatham and Elizabeth Akin. He was an only child. He died in September 1841 in Dekalb Co. TN.
Joel Sr. and Rhoda were married in a religious ceremony on November 14th, 1785 in Amelia Co. VA. They had three sons and three daughters, named Archibald (Archer) L., Edmond E., Joel Jr., Tabitha Isbell, Nancy and Elizabeth.
