Ellen Preston Speaks 
Ellen Preston was born on October 26th, 1839 in Alabama.1 Ellen Preston's father was Wiley Speaks and her mother was Mary Elizabeth (Betsey) Murphey. Her maternal grandfather was James Murphy and her maternal grandmother is Rachel Laine. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Mary Ann, James T., William Asbury, Samuel Jasper, Henrietta C, Martha Ann and Sarah Elizabeth (Sally). She was the second youngest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Hansford and Nancy J.. She died at the age of 18 on October 14th, 1858 in Morgan Co., Alabama.1 General Notes

James William Ellen was born on October 14th, 1858 in Hartselle, Morgan Co., Alabama.1 He died at the age of 83 on September 9th, 1942 in Roswell, Chaves Co., New Mexico.1
