James William Ellen Basham 
James William Ellen was born on October 14th, 1858 in Hartselle, Morgan Co., Alabama.1 James William Ellen's father was James Hogan Basham and his mother was Lucillian 'Lucsey' Unknown. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Elizabeth Hogan. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Jonathan J. (Jack), Jacob W., George Jasper, Claborn C. J., Aron King, David M., Beulah Elizabeth, Mary J., Francis Emily, Martha A. and Lucy Palistine. He was the youngest of the twelve children. He had a half-brother named James Alexander. He died at the age of 83 on September 9th, 1942 in Roswell, Chaves Co., New Mexico.1 General Notes
