John Ritchie 
John was born in 1812 in Clay Co., Kentucky.1 John's father was Alexander Crockett Ritchie and his mother was Elizabeth Susan Grigsby. His maternal grandfather was Benjamin Grigsby and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Duncan. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Grigsby, James Monroe, Hiram, Nicholas, Gabriel, Oriah, Alexander Crockett, Naoma, Elizabeth, Mary and Nancy. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 63 in 1875 in Fisty, Knott Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
