Elizabeth Ritchie

Elizabeth was born in February 1820 in Clay Co., Kentucky.¹ Elizabeth's father was Alexander Crockett Ritchie and her mother was Elizabeth Susan Grigsby. Her maternal grandfather was Benjamin Grigsby and her maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Duncan. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Grigsby, James Monroe, John, Hiram, Nicholas, Gabriel, Oriah, Alexander Crockett, Naoma, Mary and Nancy. She is the fifth youngest of the twelve children.
