William Francis Basham 
William Francis was born about 1828 in Clifton Mill, Breckenridge Co., Ky.1 William Francis' father was Allen Dowell Basham and his mother was Malinda DALTON. His paternal grandparents were Obediah Basham and Celia Dowell. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Micajah, Daniel James, Henry Dalton, Allen Dowell II, Luther D. (Seth), Robert Houston, Samuel Logan, Mary B. and Paulina Ellen. He was the oldest of the ten children. He had four half-brothers named George Washington, Joseph Dempsey, Thomas McClellan (Tom) and Barksdale P.. He died about 1904 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
