Joane was born about 1202 in Pembroke, Pembroke, Wale.  Joane's father was William The Protector Marshall and her mother was Isabel De Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were John The Marshal Fitzgilbert and Sibilla Sibyl De Salisbury; her maternal grandparents were Richard Strongbow Fitzgilbert Clare and Eve Aoife Macmurrough. She had a brother and four sisters, named Gilbert VII Earl Of Pembroke, Sybil, Maud, Eve and Isabel.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died in 1247 in England.

‌Joane and Warine were married in a religious ceremony about 1217 in Of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  They had a daughter named Joan.
