William COURTENAY

William was born about 1477 in Powderham, Devonshire, England. William's father was William COURTENAY and his mother was Cecily CHENEY. His paternal grandparents were William COURTENAY and Margaret BONVILLE; his maternal grandparents were John CHENEY and Elizabeth HILL. He had three brothers and six sisters, named James, Edward, Piers, Elizabeth, Joan, Ann, Cicely, Eleanor and Margaret. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died on November 24th, 1535 in Powderham, Devonshire, England.¹
