Isabel was born about 1150 in Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire, England.  Isabel's father was King William of Scots (The Lion) and her mother was Miss Avenel.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl Henry of Huntingdon and Ada or Adelaide Warren; her maternal grandfather was Richard Avenal.  She was an only child.
