Morris Martin was born about 1810 in SC.1 Morris Martin's father was John Archer Elmore and his mother was Nancy Ann Martin. His paternal grandparents were Archelas Elmore and Susannah Morris; his maternal grandparents were John Martin and Elizabeth Dickerson Terry. He had nine brothers and four sisters, named John Archer, Jr., William Augustus, Luther Alfred, Henry Marshall, Laurence Ludlow, Physick Rush, Winfield Scott, Albert Standhope, James Scott, Susan Elizabeth, Sarah Terry, Mary Martin and Ann Harriet. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Benjamin Thomas, Franklin Harper, Narcissa, Sophia Saxon and Charlotte Perry. He died on January 19th, 1830 in Autauga Co., AL.1 General Notes
