Ann was born about 1894 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. Ann's father was William Allen Buchanan and her mother was Elizabeth Jane Hawkins. Her paternal grandfather was John Buchanan; her maternal grandparents were Solomon Hawkins and Mary James. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James A., George Alexander, Chester Venoy, Joseph Andrew, Lucinda Laport, Mary E. and Effie May. She was the youngest of the eight children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Millard Fillmore, Winfield S., Robert Grant, Sarah C. and Alice. She died about 1894 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee.-
