Richard Angevin was born in England.1   Richard Angevin's father was John Lackland Plantagenet King of England and his mother was Isabella Taillefer.  His paternal grandparents were Henry II Plantagenet and Eleanor de Aquitaine Dss de Aquitaine; his maternal grandparents were Aymer Taillefer de Valence Ct de Angoulême and Alice de Courtenay. He had a brother and three sisters, named Henry III, Joan, Isabella Eliz and Alianor. He had eleven half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Oliver, Henry, Ivo, Richard, Osbert, Eudo Fitz, Geoffrey Fitz, Richard FitzJohn of Dover, John FitzJohn, Hugh de Lusignan, William de Valence, Matilda, Joanna and Alice Brun.  He died on April 2nd, 1272 in Berkhamsteadcast, Herts, England.1
