David Breckinridge

David was born on February 22nd, 1773. David's father was Andrew Breckenridge and his mother was Elizabeth Ferguson. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Breckenridge and Isobella Jamison; his maternal grandparents were David Ferguson and Janet Watson. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas, Andrew, John, Isobell, Janet, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Jean, Janet and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 72 in 1845.

  David and Charlotte (McMillan) Brackenridge immigrated to Washington County, Ohio in the fall of 1834. This Brackenridge family shipped on board the brig "Nora" bound from Grennock, Scotland to New York, arriving at their destined port after a voyage of six weeks and three days. David Brackenridge purchased land and farmed in Washington County, Ohio until he died in 1845 at the ripe old age of 75 years. David Brackenridge was a staunch member of the Presbyterian church. In 1850, his wife, Charlotte, lived with her son, Duncan and his wife, Margaret in Barlow Township, Washington County, Ohio and in 1860, Charlotte lived with her daughter, Margaret (Mrs. James McKay) in Dunham twp., Washington Co. Ohio. Charlotte died at the age of 95 years.
