Andrew was born on September 23rd, 1786 and his baptism took place on September 24th, 1786.  Andrew's father was Andrew Breckenridge and his mother was Elizabeth Ferguson.  His paternal grandparents were Andrew Breckenridge and Isobella Jamison; his maternal grandparents were David Ferguson and Janet Watson. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named David, Thomas, John, Isobell, Janet, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Jean, Janet and Elizabeth.  He was the seventh oldest of the eleven children.
