Isobell was born on July 25th, 1775 and her baptism took place on July 30th, 1775.  Isobell's father was Andrew Breckenridge and her mother was Elizabeth Ferguson.  Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Breckenridge and Isobella Jamison; her maternal grandparents were David Ferguson and Janet Watson. She had four brothers and six sisters, named David, Thomas, Andrew, John, Janet, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Jean, Janet and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the eleven children.
