Mercy Whitford

Mercy was born on March 25th, 1739 in Exeter, Washington, Rhode Island, USA.¹ Mercy's father was John Whitford and her mother is Martha Tefft. Her paternal grandparents were Pasco Whitford and Mary Stafford; her maternal grandfather was James Tefft and her maternal grandmother is Martha Sheffield. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Benjamin, John, Amos, Sarah, Lydia, Elizabeth, Mary and Martha. She was the seventh oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 86 on January 6th, 1826.¹
