Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1892 ROBINSON William Little Hulton MATHER LH/38/438
Willie Robinson Born 31/01/? Think B/Day, Son of Nell & Tom Robinson (confirmed by Birth Certificate).
From his picture in the Mather family wedding (Sarah Stocks and John Mather) of Aug 1901, he appears to be about 8.
His mother Ann Ellen was working in Claughton, Birkenhead in 1891, so Willie could have been born or registered in Birkenhead. Also, Ann Ellen married in Port Sunlight in 1891, but 1901 census shows he was born in Bolton. It appears she was pregnant whan married, so moved away from the area for a few years, before returning to Birkenhead. Tom and Ellen were living in Rumworth when William was born.
The family remembered that Willie died in his teens. It must have been between the 1901 and 1911 census.
The only match is for " William Henry Robinson", born Q4-1888 in Birkenhead (not Bolton) who died in 1906, but this was the son of Samuel and Sarah Robinson (another family). There are no young men registered for "Wirral", so possibly died in Lancashire.
General Notes
Originaly thought to be named Ephriam (from old family tree), but 1901 census has him as William, age 9, living at 96 Greendale Road, New Ferry, Lower Bebington. Ephriam was Ann's second husband, so that probably was a mistake on the tree.
1892 birth records confirms he's the son of Ann Ellen Mather, even though he's born in Rumworth, Bolton!
In 1901, William Robinson (9) was with his mother Ann E (35, Head) at New Ferry, Lower Bebington.
