Ann Tomlinson was definately a "Bolton", as her brother-in-law, John Bolton, lived with the family for much of his life.
In 1825, Richard Tomlinson and Ann Bolton were married at St Peter's, Bolton.
In 1841, Richard and Ann (40 & 35) are living at Shaw St. Bolton with Thomas (15), Richard (3) and Mary (10mo) mother Mary Bolton (60) and family. There daughter Alice (12) was living nearby at Back Shaw Street, possibly as a servant.
In 1851 at 8 Shaw St, Bolton with family and Brother John Bolton.
In 1871, Ann (67, Wid) was a provision dealer at 19 Shaw Street. With her were Richard (son, 33, Wid), Mary (29), John (23), grandson Peter B (4) and Jophn Bolton (63, boarder).
After 1881 the family moved form 8 to 19 Shaw Street, Great Bolton, Lancashire. In 1861 Ann was widowed. 19 Shaw St was the former home of William Aspinwall.
Moved in with John and Alice Ward (daughter) by 1881, aged 77. She died in 1889, and was buried on Christmas Day. Richard and Ann were buried at Tonge Cemetery in a grave with 9 other family members (see reference).
