Zephaniah Mather

Zephaniah was born in March 1845 in Mellor and his baptism took place there on February 17th, 1845.¹

Zephaniah's father was William Mather and his mother was Margaret Pomfret. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Nicholas, Amos, Mary, Nancy and Margaret.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 60 in 1905.
