Joseph was born on June 3rd, 1887 in Fairfax, Atchison County, Missouri.1   Joseph's father was William Henry Shinaut and his mother was Susan Alice Hix.  His paternal grandparents were Rueben Shinaut and Eleanor Franklin; his maternal grandparents were Hix and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Charles, David, Earl, Estella, Mary and Ethel.  He died at the age of 84 on March 5th, 1972 in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas.1 




Joseph's family

Joseph and Viola were married on June 3rd, 1905.  They had a son and a daughter, named Ormand and Violet.
