Cornelis de Vries

Cornelis was born in 1785 and his baptism took place on June 4th, 1785 in Dordrecht.¹

Cornelis' father was Gerrit Jacobsz de Vries and his mother was IJda/Yda/Ida van der Schalie.  His maternal grandparents were Cornelis Corneliszn van der Schalie/Schally and Aeltje of Alida Cornelis van der Borcht of Burg of Borg. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, Teunis, Gerrit, Willem, Gijsbert, Teuntje and Alida.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 57 on January 27th, 1842.
