Alida de Vries

Alida was born in 1781 and her baptism took place on March 10th, 1781 in Dordrecht.¹   Alida's father was Gerrit Jacobsz de Vries and her mother was IJda/Yda/Ida van der Schalie.  Her maternal grandparents were Cornelis Corneliszn van der Schalie/Schally and Aeltje of Alida Cornelis van der Borcht of Burg of Borg. She had six brothers and a sister, named Jacob, Cornelis, Teunis, Gerrit, Willem, Gijsbert and Teuntje.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.
