Pieter was born in August 1816 in Akersloot.  Pieter's father was Pieter Appelboom and his mother was Jannetje Arends Koning. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Dirk, Arie, Jacobus, Marijtje, Pietertje and Trijntje.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 69 on January 13th, 1886 in Ilpendam.1
