Jacobus was born in 1821 in Heiloo.  Jacobus' father was Pieter Appelboom and his mother was Jannetje Arends Koning. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Dirk, Arie, Pieter, Marijtje, Pietertje and Trijntje.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 20 on December 29th, 1841 in Heiloo.1
