Arie was born in 1813 in Akersloot.  Arie's father was Pieter Appelboom and his mother was Jannetje Arends Koning. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Dirk, Pieter, Jacobus, Marijtje, Pietertje and Trijntje.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 29 on May 20th, 1842 in Heiloo.1
