Mr John Spence

John was born in 1775 in St Vigeans, Angus, Scotland and his baptism took place there on June 29th, 1775.

John's father was Mr Adam Spence and his mother was Mrs Janet Mudie. His maternal grandparents were Mr William Mudie and Mrs Margaret Mann. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William, George, Adam, Alexander, Elizabeth, Margaret, Helen, Marinea and Jean. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
