Ms Helen Spence

Helen was born in 1781 in St Vigeans, Angus, Scotland and her baptism took place there on May 14th, 1781.

Helen's father was Mr Adam Spence and her mother was Mrs Janet Mudie. Her maternal grandparents were Mr William Mudie and Mrs Margaret Mann. She had five brothers and four sisters, named John, William, George, Adam, Alexander, Elizabeth, Margaret, Marinea and Jean. She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.
