Isobel was born in 1721 in Slains, Aberdeenshire, Scotland and her baptism took place there on June 27th, 1721.  Isobel's father was Mr James Gibson and her mother was Mrs Jean Cuming.  Her maternal grandparents were Mr Alexander Cuming and Mrs NK NK. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Alexander, James, William, George, Margaret, Elizabeth and Isobel.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 5 in 1726 in Slains, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
