Mary "May" was born in 1874.  Mary "May"'s father was Louis_IV of_Hesse and her mother was Alice Maud Mary.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles of_Hesse and Elizabeth of_Prussia; her maternal grandparents were Albert Augustus Charles and Victoria Hanover.  She was the youngest of seven children.  She had two brothers and four sisters, named Ernest Louis of_Hesse, Frederick, Victoria Alberta of_Hesse, Elizabeth "Ella", Irene of_Hesse and Alexandra Fedorovna "Alix".  She died at the age of 4 in 1878 in Hesse-Darmstadt,Palace,,Germany.
