Elizabeth "Ella" was born in 1864.  Elizabeth "Ella"'s father was Louis_IV of_Hesse and her mother was Alice Maud Mary.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles of_Hesse and Elizabeth of_Prussia; her maternal grandparents were Albert Augustus Charles and Victoria Hanover.  She was the second of seven children.  She had two brothers and four sisters, named Ernest Louis of_Hesse, Frederick, Victoria Alberta of_Hesse, Irene of_Hesse, Alexandra Fedorovna "Alix" and Mary "May".  She died at the age of 54 on July 17th, 1918 in Alapayevsk,Ural Mts.,,Russia.
