Frederick William was born on May 24th, 1750 in Leicester House.  Frederick William's father was Frederick Louis Hanover and his mother was Augusta of_Saxe-Gotha.  His paternal grandparents were George_II Hanover and Caroline of_Ansbach; his maternal grandparents were Frederick_II of_Saxe-Gotha and Magdalena Augusta of_Anhalt-Zerbst.  He was the eighth of nine children.  He had four brothers and four sisters, named George_III, Edward Augustus, Edward Henry of_Gloucester, Henry Frederick of_Cumberland, Augusta, Elizabeth Caroline, Louisa Anne and Caroline Matilda.  He died at the age of 15 on December 29th, 1765 in Leicester House.
