Caroline Matilda was born on July 22nd, 1751 in Leicester House.  Caroline Matilda's father was Frederick Louis Hanover and her mother was Augusta of_Saxe-Gotha.  Her paternal grandparents were George_II Hanover and Caroline of_Ansbach; her maternal grandparents were Frederick_II of_Saxe-Gotha and Magdalena Augusta of_Anhalt-Zerbst.  She was the youngest of nine children.  She had five brothers and three sisters, named George_III, Edward Augustus, Edward Henry of_Gloucester, Henry Frederick of_Cumberland, Frederick William, Augusta, Elizabeth Caroline and Louisa Anne.  She died at the age of 23 on May 10th, 1775 in Celle.  Her burial was in Celle.
