Ann was born in 1880.  Ann's father was Joseph Matthew Brown and her mother was Lavinia Whittaker.  Her paternal grandparents were John Brown and Elizabeth. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Joseph, Elizabeth and Mary.  She was the youngest of the five children.
