Mary was born in September 1959.  Mary's father was Robert (Bobby) Francis Kennedy and her mother is Ethel S Skakel.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald.  She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Bobby Jr., David, Michael, Christopher, Max, Douglas, Kathleen, Mary and Rory.  She is the seventh oldest of the eleven children.

Mario and Mary were married on June 9th, 1990 in Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C..  They have three daughters named Cara, Mariah and Michaela.  Cara and Mariah are twins.
