Taylor was born in 1867.  Taylor's father was George Washington Glover and his mother was Nancy Umbel.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Glover and Sarah  Street (Glover). He had two brothers and five sisters, named George, Reuben, Selena, Melissa, Rhoda, Savilla and Minerva.  He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, William, Anabella and Mary.  He died at the age of 81 on April 27th, 1948.
