William Downs

William was born in 1862 in Pelsall, Staffordshire, England. William's father is William Pope Downs and his mother was Ruth Groom. His maternal grandfather was Thomas Groom and his maternal grandmother is Mary Preece. He has two brothers and five sisters, named James, John, Mary Ann, Sarah Jane, Hariett, Rosanna and Edith. He is the third oldest of the eight children.
