James Downs

James was born in 1866 in Pelsall, Staffordshire, England. James' father is William Pope Downs and his mother was Ruth Groom. His maternal grandfather was Thomas Groom and his maternal grandmother is Mary Preece. He has two brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Mary Ann, Sarah Jane, Hariett, Rosanna and Edith. He is the fifth oldest of the eight children.
