John Robert was born on March 6th, 1869 in Clinton, Clinton, Iowa, United States.1 John Robert's father was Michael TOBIN and his mother was Bridget MAY. His paternal grandparents were Thomas TOBIN and Jane CLIFFORD; his maternal grandparents are Thomas MAY and Catherine MCCALLY. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas John, Peter William, Edward, Michael Henry, Lawrence A., Ellen M., Catherine A. and Mary Jane. He had two half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Michael, John, Elizabeth, Johanna, Bridget, Catherine, Margaret, Mary and Ellen. He died at the age of 68 on December 28th, 1937 in Milbank, Grant, South Dakota, United States. He was buried in St. Lawrence Cemetery.1 General Notes
