Patience was born in April 1762.  Patience's father was Henry Skewes and her mother was Margery Behenna.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Skewes and Mary James. She had a brother and six sisters, named Henry, Elizabeth, Mary, Marjory, Jane, Ann and Biddy.  She was the youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 1 on September 24th, 1763.
