John T. Carroll

John was born in November 1857 in Tennessee.  John's father was William Andrew Carroll and his mother was Sarah Jane Quillen (Carroll).  His paternal grandparents were Andrew Sterling Carroll and Anne Kelly (Carroll). He had six brothers and five sisters, named William, Joshua, Liondus, Lee, Willis, James, Jenny, Polly, Martha, Malinney and Melvina.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.
