Anneke was born in 1686 and her baptism took place on August 18th, 1686 in Eethen.1  Anneke's father was Willem Versteghen and her mother was Ariaentje Govertsdr Hoevenaar.  Her paternal grandfather is Dirck Willemszn Versteghen and her paternal grandmother was Maeijken Petersdr Vennix; her maternal grandparents were Govert Janszn Hoevenaar and Mayken Teunisdr Melen. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Peeter, Dirck, Jan, Govert, Sijke Willemsdr, Maijken, Antonia and Lijsbed.  She was the oldest of the nine children.
