Ariaentje Govertsdr was born in 1661 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and her baptism took place there on November 6th, 1661.1 2   Her godmother was Anneken Thonisdr. Ariaentje Govertsdr's father was Govert Janszn Hoevenaar and her mother was Mayken Teunisdr Melen.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Govertszn Hovenaers and Maijken Jansdr; her maternal grandparents were Thonis Dirxs Peterszn Meele and Sijtgen Petersdr Cristiaans. She had a brother and a sister, named Teunis and Janneken.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 58 in 1719 in Genderen.3
