Cornelis was born in 1778 in Genderen and his baptism took place there on January 26th, 1778.1  Cornelis' father was Huibert Verdoorn and his mother was Neeltje van der Mooren.  His paternal grandparents were Dirck Verdoorn and Antonia Versteegh; his maternal grandparents were Cornelis Peterszn van der Mooren and Dingena Antonisse van der Blok. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Dirk, Cornelis, Joost, Anthonetta, Dingena and Janneke.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 91 on January 17th, 1869 in Eethen, Genderen en Heesbeen.2
