Martinus was born in March 1799 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and his baptism took place there on March 31st, 1799.1 2  Martinus' father is Jacobus Ramstijn and his mother was Martina Mes.  His paternal grandparents are Adriaan Ramstyn and Adriana Vissers; his maternal grandparents are Martinus Mes and Adriana van Diemen. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Adriaan, Martinus, Cornelis, Johanna, Adriana, Dingena, Greta, Cornelia and Geertrui.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  He died before May 11th, 1800 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).2
