Geertrui was born in April 1806 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and her baptism took place there on April 13th, 1806.1 2  Geertrui's father is Jacobus Ramstijn and her mother was Martina Mes.  Her paternal grandparents are Adriaan Ramstyn and Adriana Vissers; her maternal grandparents are Martinus Mes and Adriana van Diemen. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Adriaan, Martinus, Martinus, Cornelis, Johanna, Adriana, Dingena, Greta and Cornelia.  She was the youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 76 on August 9th, 1882 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).2
